October 23rd -27th

Mr. Fritz will be gone this week attending the National FFA Convention
(Students can contact him if they have questions/problems or just to say hi)

Reminders:
  1. The students have an assembly on Wednesday Morning (10ish)
  2. End of 1st Quarter is Friday, October 27th
  3. Task: To find where Mr. Fritz set the new blade for the Porter Cable Miter Saw.  THE BLADE HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!


1st Hour: Agribusiness/Welding
  • Monday:
    • The students are to work on their Agriscience PowerPoints.  They can use either 365 account or Google account.  They should have Purpose thru Procedures completed.

  • Tuesday thru Friday:
    • The students are to work on their plasma cutting sign.  They have their overheads made.  They are to trace from the overhead.  After tracing from the overhead, they trace onto a piece of steel and cut.



2nd Hour: Horticulture
  • Monday
    • This will be the same has 1st hour
  • Tuesday thru Friday
    • The students will be working on their wooden pumpkins.  The students are assigned responsiblities:
      • Holden and Joseph- Cutting with jig saw
      • Ezera- Putting them together with a strip of scrape
      • Kesley and Kendra- Tracing patterns and painting
    • Once they are all put together and painted.  The pumpkins also need a kick stand to stand up.
    • Everyone can help paint once the pumpkins are constructed.



3rd Hour: Introduction to Agriculture
  • Monday
    • This will be the same has 1st hour
  • Tuesday Thru Friday
    • The students are working on their small china hutch.  
    • The instructions are written on the white board in the shop
    • They can start working on the glass door.  They need to make sure they use miter corners.  



4th Hour: Foundation of Agriculture
  • Monday
    • This will be the same has 1st hour
  • Tuesday thru Friday
    • The students are working on their grain cleaners.
    • They can start assembling.
    • Weston knows which piece to use for the back.  If that piece doesn't work, they can use a from the wood room. (back needs to be sanding and painted if using plywood.  Any color will work)



5th Hour: 7th Grade Agriculture
  • Monday
    • The students are to work on LA151 Beef Breeds- Exercise 4.  It is a fill in the blank worksheet.  They need to keep the reading material for Tuesday's assignment.
  • Tuesday
    • Using their reading material from Monday, the students need to complete the crossword puzzle
  • Wednesday-Friday
    • Scenario:
      • Mr. Fritz is a new farmer.  He want to raise beef cattle. Your task is to convince him why your breed is the best option for him.  You can do any type of presentation you want to do.  Make sure your presentation hits the following points:
        • Color
        • horn versus polled
        • carcass quality
        • mothering abilities
        • Good sound bulls
        • Tolerate weather conditions
        • Any other characteristics that make your breed the best
      • The winning group wins a prize
      • The following are good websites to use: (You can use other sites also but not Wikipedia.


6th Hour: Agriculture Mechanics Technology II
  • Monday
    • This will be the same has 1st hour. 
    • Austin and Xavier can seed their grass.  They can just use the soil by the white board and growing flats.  Clear a space by the Windows once seeded.  They need to mark flats with seed type
  • Tuesday thru Friday
    • The students are working a variety of projects.  They all must have their patio blocks pour from concrete by Friday 
    • The students can make the top for their engraver project.  I have attach a photo


    • The students are to share the clamps.  There will be more clamps on Wednesday.
    • The can use a Kreg Jig if someone brings one in.



7th Hour: Prep (No Students)


8th Hour: Bulldog Period
  • Monday thru Friday
    • The students are to work on homework

This week there are changes to the schedule because of Testing.


Change in Schedule:
7th Grade will have their ND Honey Production Test on Thursday.  We are going to the Seed Plant on Tuesday to learn about Seed Cleaning





All Officer Books Need to Be Up-To-Date by the End of the Week

FFA members can start bring in Grain Samples to be cleaned for the ND FFA State Crop Show
